Overview

In the village square, specifically next to the Regional Primary School of Kakopetria, there is a monument dedicated to the missing fighters of the community. The fate of Andreas Demosthenou and Onoufrios Kleridis has been missing since 1963, while the fate of Andreas Stylianou, Vasos Kalapodas and Christakis Kalapodas has been missing since 1974. The remains of Marios Ioannou and Charalambos Kampouris, missing since 1974, were identified through the DNA method and buried in their community.
